Methodology
How we tested the Ronbus Tenon 3
Every paddle on this site goes through the same five-step protocol — lab measurement first, then structured on-court drills with a partner. No shortcuts, no guessing, no relying on the brand's spec sheet.
- Lab-measured specs. Static weight, swing weight, and twist weight measured on calibrated equipment — not pulled from the brand's claim sheet.
- 10-minute break-in. Drives, dinks, drops, and resets to let the face settle in before any verdict is recorded.
- Baseline power & spin. Drives, topspin patterns, and serves with a drilling partner to evaluate raw power and ball pocketing.
- Kitchen touch & control. Dinking, third-shot drops, and resets to evaluate dwell time, plushness, and mishit forgiveness.
- Transition firepower. Mid-court exchanges and hand-speed battles where shape and twist weight separate the great from the average.

Ronbus Tenon Review: This Paddle Feels Incredible
Specs at a Glance

- Tenon 3 Elongated — Weight: 7.82 oz, SW: 116.91, TW: 6.12

Tenon 2 Widebody vs. Tenon 3 Elongated
The Tenon 2 Widebody sits at SW 118.97 and TW 7.38 — a heavier, more stable platform that rewards aggressive groundstrokes and powerful overhead finishes. Its wide face keeps the ball on the paddle longer for great dwell. The Tenon 3 Elongated drops to SW 116.91 and TW 6.12, giving you extra reach and a quicker feel in transition. The lower TW means less face rotation on off-center contact, which is critical for elongated shapes.
On-Court Performance
Both Tenon models have a premium feel that's hard to describe — the ball seems to load and release with an almost satisfying snap. The 16mm core gives you excellent pop control so drives don't fly long, and the touch on dinks and soft drops is exceptional. During drill testing, spin rates were consistent and the paddle held up well through extended rallies. The Tenon earns its 'incredible feel' reputation whether you're testing it in drills or live play.
Who Should Buy the Ronbus Tenon?
- Players who want a premium feel without a premium price
- Widebody fans seeking a heavier, planted swing → Tenon 2
- Elongated players who want reach and quick hands → Tenon 3
- Intermediate to advanced players ready to invest in a performance paddle
Verdict
The Ronbus Tenon genuinely feels incredible to play with, and at $189.99 it's exceptional value. Use code PLAYBOOK to save $20 on either the Widebody or Elongated and find out for yourself.
